The West Roxbury District Court

On March 25, the fifth graders went to the West Roxbury District Court.  We met Judge Coffey, Mr. Guinta, and  probation officers Miss Young and Mrs. Walsh. We saw a video and  learned how peer pressure can change your life. Ms. Young showed us the anklet that some criminals have to wear that tracks them by GPS.  She also showed a breathalyzer that checks if criminals are using alcohol.  Then we saw a court case for assault and battery and assault with a deadly weapon. We went in the holding cells. It was very scary. This field trip was very informative and interesting. We learned one very important lesson on this trip, choices are everything.
