Trip to the Arnold Arboretum

Grade 5 took an enjoyable trip to the Arnold Arboretum! We went with Mr. Pearlstein our science teacher to study the trees and animals that live on Hemlock  Hill. We learned that there are 5,000 different species of trees that call the Arboretum their home. We saw some cool ferns and a Red Back salamander. We also saw a lot of centipedes, fungi, and slugs. We learned that if you scratch the stem of a Black Birch it smells like peppermint.

We had a wonderful time at the Arnold Arboretum. We learned a lot and had so much fun!
