We went up to Hemlock Hill at the Arnold Arboretum with Mr. Pearlstein. Nancy, Bob, Mary, Joanna, Elsa,  Joel, and Ruth Anne from the Arboretum met us there and taught us a lot of things. We learned that a Black Birch Tree smells like mint when you scratch the bark, and a Black Cherry tree smells like pepper. We saw a lot of interesting insects, like a pseudo-scorpion and a green spider. Also another group caught a salamander! We learned about producers, decomposers and consumers. Producers make food like plants do, consumers eat the food, and the decomposers eat dead things and the cycle starts all over. We had fun and learned a lot!
