A SpecialVisitor To The Mozart School

In October, a special visitor came to the 5th grade. A student's father is in the army and recently returned to his home from Iraq.  Sergeant Cepeda explained what you have to do in the army.  You have to get up at 5:00 A.M., and carry heavy equipment. It was boiling in the day, but when night neared, it was freezing. He told us that they have different types of camouflage, depending on the environment they were in.  If it was like a jungle, they would wear green, brown, and other colors like in the picture to the right. If the environment was sandy, they would have sand colors like orange and yellow. They always want to blend in with the environment in order not to get shot.

Wars happened very suddenly. Sergeant Cepeda told us that even if he had a day off in Iraq, he always had to be ready for war. Once, when he was visiting home, he had to suddenly go back to Iraq, even when they told him 1 month before.

We were honored and grateful for Sergeant Cepeda coming to our school. When we pledge allegiance, we always will think about that special day that Sergeant Cepeda came.
