    We read a lot of books in our school, and here are some of our favorites.

Book: Island of the Blue Dolphins
Author: Scott O’Dell
Rating: Awesome!
Summary: When Karina is stuck on an island alone with her young brother, she has to find ways to survive in the deadly wilderness. When the wolves trample through the treeless island, Karina’s brother is determined to kill the leader, which was the strongest. Karina, being worried, tries to find him, and it was not till sunset she finds his body, wounded, scarcely breathing. He dies the next day, and Karina wanted revenge. Karina focuses on building a firm shelter, and then weapons. Finally, she catches the wolf leader with an arrow, and looking at his sorrowful eyes, she decides to keep him as a pet instead killing him. Together, they gather up the courage to live in the island.
 



 

Book: Changes for Julie

Summary: This book is an American Girl series. This book is about a girl named Julie. Julie is in the fifth grade. Julie wants to be school president. Some people tell her only sixth graders can be president. Julie asked the principle if she can she run for president. He said yes you can. The boy who Julie went against wanted pizza on Fridays. Julie wanted to have no detention. Every body voted for the boy. Julie put more posters asking to vote for me. People started voting for Julie after seeing the signs. Julie ended up winning.
 


Book: American Girls Books
Author: Valerie Tripp

Summary: Have you ever read a book by Valerie Tripp? Well she writes most of the American Girl series such as Felicity, Kit, Molly, and Josefina . She also wrote the Hopscotch Hill series. She wrote these American Girl series for a good reason: to inspire girls who were not believing in themselves.
